Warwick Rhode Island: Socialized school system destroys many children’s future and teachers’ jobs

Warwick Rhode Island Public School emblemFor what is a shock to those who are completely ignorant of history and current events, but not to those of us who understand what made America the greatest country on Earth, Warwick Rhode Island schools will no longer have sports or clubs come this fall.

For those parents who support free markets and fought against the current leadership in Warwick, and especially the children who will be forced into an even greater one-size fits all education system, true Americans extend their greatest sympathies.

For everyone else in the city of Warwick, you get what you deserve.

After years of Tea Party activists and good government organizations in Rhode Island fighting hard against the Establishment in the state, and warning union workers, parents, and all voters that their system of government is not sustainable, we see the result of voters’ blatant disregard to their warnings.  The shortsightedness of the majority of voters in the state and others believing that if they do not vote for the Establishment their paycheck would be affected, the students of Warwick are the victims of their decision making.

Joseph J. Solomon Mayor of Warwick, RI

According to WPRI, Warwick Superintendent Philip Thornton stated, “We had to cut textbooks, teacher training, teacher assistants… all things we need desperately.”  Now pushed into this fold are Warwick’s sports and recreational clubs, the last remnant of non-indoctrination education left in our public school system.

Whenever people are forced to hand over money to any entity, government or otherwise, to fund a monopoly system as we have in public education today, that entity grows to serve its employees and customers worse and worse over time.  All business transactions, even those that involve the government, devoid of voluntary exchange, result in corporatism; The coercive power of government combined with the money-making power of business.  Government entities are the clearest example of corporatism because government is by definition a monopoly.  Therefore, any government service or product which must take by force its funding from the citizens is rooted in corporatism.

This is the inevitable result of any socialized system.

The only solution to break the back of any corporatized system is privatization:

  • Privatization forces those who wish to serve the public to compete for their earnings and in turn adapts its products and services to the needs of the public.
  • Privatization motivates entrepreneurs to provide products and services to smaller, underserved populations because the profit motive works.
  • Privatization generates efficiency because when businesses compete for earnings, they supply the demands of those they serve in the most profitable way.
  • Privatization lowers prices because as prices decline the population of potential customers expands.
  • Privatization creates a meritocracy in which those employed who are the best, earn the most.
  • Privatization creates a competitive market for employment in which workers are in demand and employers are motivated to offer benefits to attract the best talent.

NONE OF THIS IS TRUE IN A SOCIALIZED, MONOPOLIZED, AND CORPORATIST SYSTEM, as we have today in public education.
