The real threat of the Coronavirus, and it is not what you think . . .

The real threat of the Coronavirus is not the deaths it will cause due to illness, it is the countless deaths that will be incurred by the massive power grab sure to ensue.  Power hungry and government worshiping Rahm Emanuel stated, “You never let a serious crisis go to waste.  And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.

The Coronavirus is just such an opportunity, one that only comes about every decade or so, and rest assured all Democrat and many Republican politicians tamed by the Deep State are licking their lips.

How can one know this?  With only a fraction of the threat from pandemics such as bird flu, swine flu, SARS, Zika, and on and on over the last few decades, politicians have used these events as an excuse to pass permanent legislation that would legalize both warrantless searches and due process protections.

image sourced from PixabayTake one example, the Act Relative to Pandemic and Disaster Preparation and Response in the Commonwealth, proposed 14 years ago in Massachusetts.  Below is a letter the author of this article wrote to the editor of the state newspaper titled, The seeds of fascism: Pandemic and Disaster Preparation and Response Act Senate Bill No. 2028:

I have a simple request to all Massachusetts residents:  Please read the legislation proposed by Senator Richard Moore titled An Act Relative to Pandemic and Disaster Preparation and Response in the Commonwealth.  This bill is about to pass; a law mandating members of the Commonwealth sacrifice liberty for security.

Here are a few facts about this Act:

In only 20 or so pages, this Act invokes the words and phrases:

“arrest without a warrant” 3 times.

“quarantine” 15 times.

“imprisonment” 5 times

“punished by a fine” 2 times

. . . all in regard to the government response to people feeling sick.

The big question is, of course, what is the context?  I will tell you that the context of these words and phrases are in the affirmative.  In other words, they will arrest you without a warrant, they will quarantine you.

It is also telling that the law specifies that “In this section, ‘disease or condition dangerous to the public health’ does not include acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) or the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).”  If the law is not malicious or could be used to offend the rights of people with such a disease, why would it have to be called out for a special exception in the law?

The fact is that this law is a huge breach of power by the Massachusetts legislature and if this law was in fact in place when the AIDS hysteria began, the leadership of Massachusetts would have been empowered to lock up every victim of AIDS for as long as they remained a threat.  A disgraceful shame would have befallen the leadership of Massachusetts, a shame that is now in the cards for future generations due to the actions of Senator Richard Moore and those who voted in favor of this bill.

I met with Senator Moore, a Democrat, and asked him if he would trust this power in the hands of former President Bush and Vice President Chaney, two people he had publicly claimed to abhor.  His answer was quite tellingly, yes.

So, I ask all Massachusetts residents, would you?  If the answer is no, you have to ask yourself if you actually believe there will never be an irresponsible person willing to abuse their power in public office again.

Make no mistake, what was attempted by Democrats 14 years ago has been expanding and expanding over the years, and now the iron is hot.  One must hope that President Trump and the liberty Republicans in Congress understand the principles America was founded well enough to decide based upon reason and not emotion.  No matter how many deaths arise due to the Coronavirus, and as truly tragic it will be for every life lost, it will not compare to the loss of life for generations to come once Americans allow the government to destroy warrant and due process protections.
